Music
At Epping Upland C.E. Primary School music is a practical, creative and fun subject which can be of benefit to all children in developing imagination, the ability to listen attentively and the ability to express personal thoughts and feelings. The children are encouraged to develop a love of music, and to see it as a tool in supporting their own well-being.
The children gain an understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing and composing across a variety of historical periods, styles, traditions and musical genres. Music is embedded in the culture of our school, and the children have a positive experience which they take with them as they leave KS2 and begin their Secondary School journey.
The National Curriculum for music aims to ensure that all children:
- Perform, listen to, review and evaluate music
- Be taught to sing, create and compose music
- Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated.
